The Robotics Operations and Supply Chain organization sources and manufactures a portfolio of robotics technology and is responsible for getting the right materials to the right place at the right time to support our network of global fulfillment and transportation solutions. It’s an operation that works cross-functionally with teams across the globe, and is driven by data and metrics.

The Supply Chain team is seeking an experienced Sr. Global Commodity Manager for APAC to lead supplier management and strategic sourcing initiatives in the region. This role is crucial in supporting new product introduction programs and developing long-term commodity strategies. The ideal candidate will be a self-driven professional with a strong background in global supplier management, new supplier introduction, and supplier development.
As a Sr. Global Commodity Manager for APAC, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that your assigned commodities and suppliers meet the technical and commercial specifications required by Amazon Robotics' internal Manufacturing Operations, Supplier Quality, Supply Chain, and Hardware Engineering teams.


Key job responsibilities
- Develop and execute commodity strategies for the APAC region, aligning business requirements with supplier capabilities and market trends.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Advanced Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, Technical Operations, Engineering, and Technical Program Managers) to define product requirements and ensure sourcing strategies meet technical, cost, and business objectives.
- Manage overall supplier relationships, including performance evaluation, capability assessment, capacity planning, contract negotiation, and risk mitigation.
- Monitor supplier performance, address supply and quality issues, and support purchasing and planning teams in the APAC region.
- Align supplier strategies with Amazon Robotics' objectives for sustaining production and new product releases.
- Develop and maintain a commodity and supplier technology roadmap for the APAC region.
- Manage monthly supplier scorecards and conduct business reviews with suppliers.
- Drive cost and quality improvements through strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier development programs.
- Travel periodically to supplier manufacturing sites in APAC (approximately 25% of the time).


About the team
As a Sr. Global Commodity Manager for APAC, you'll drive Amazon Robotics' supply chain success through strategic supplier partnerships across the region. Your day spans multiple time zones - from engaging with APAC suppliers to aligning with US-based teams on product development and continuous improvement initiatives.

You'll develop regional sourcing strategies, tackle supply challenges, and partner with Advanced Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams to maintain our high standards. Regular supplier visits keep you connected to manufacturing operations while building crucial relationships. Success in this role comes from your ability to navigate cross-cultural dynamics, drive data-based decisions, and balance multiple priorities in our fast-paced environment.
