Mobile Equipment Operator- 2nd Shift

Reports to Title: Shift Supervisor with directions from a Team Leader

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

SHIFT NIGHTS /HOURS: 40+ hours per week over the course of 5 days.

Shift starts at 1:00p.m. and end at 9:00pm.

COMPENSATION: Starting pay is $20.27 with the ability to earn more.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

The Mobile Equipment Operator will safely operate mobile equipment such as lift trucks, cranes, and or yard vehicles in order to move materials and products between workstations and/or receiving and storage locations. The Mobile Equipment Operator also ensures proper identification of parts and materials.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Comply with all industry safety rules, procedures and applicable government regulations

• Loads, unloads, sorts, and transports materials.

• Completes shift pre trip inspections on equipment, reporting any service or maintenance requirements to the Maintenance team proactively and immediately

• Moves levers and presses pedals to drive equipment and control movement of lifting apparatus.

• Positions forks, lifting platform or other lifting device under, over or around loaded product or materials and transports load to designated area.

• Documents and reports mechanical operation and maintenance requirements of equipment.

• Immediately report and safety incidents or infractions

• The ability to work in a varied outdoor environment (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy)

• Complete all safety training requirements.

• Wear required personal protective equipment.

• Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Must be at least 18 years or older (insurance purposes), HS Diploma/GED, reliable transportation during working hours, have good interpersonal skills, have basic math skills, able to work efficiently and effectively, self-motivated self-starter with a minimum of three (3) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid driver’s license and pass a criminal background check and drug screening.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and always without air conditioning.
