JOB TITLE: Wet Paint Technician
REPORTS TO TITLE: Shift Supervisor with the directions from Team Leader
SHIFT DAYS /HOURS: 5:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. 40+ hours per week over the course of five (5) days.
STARTING PAY: $24.85 per hour
We are seeking individuals for our Wet Paint department to operate Ransburg electrostatic paint equipment and apply industrial paint finishes onto aluminum extrusions. Previous experience is a plus!
What You Will Be Responsible For:
- Responsible demonstrating the ability to collaborate well with all team members and ensuring compliance to daily attainment in support of quality and schedule requirements.
- Oversee the painting of a wide variety of parts in specified colors.
- Determine and retrieve proper paint materials according to specifications.
- Responsible for daily set-up of all systems for paint processing equipment and monitoring systems and the parameters of production paint process.
- Responsible for ensuring daily production key measure (e.g., quality, efficiency, production quantities, scrap, etc.) for paint operations are met.
- Works on floor completing technical daily paint processing duties.
- Verifies process parameters.
- Helps develop plans for paint process improvement and will have specific areas of accountability in its execution.
- Assures housekeeping standards are met.
- Works with the Quality department and Paint Team Leader to improve process control.
- Trouble-shoots processing problems including normal adjustments and checks.
- Assures scrap issues are addressed and fixed in a timely manner.
- Prior forklift experience a plus, must be able to pass company forklift certification.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- Must be able to be to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch occasionally. Stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25-50 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance as needed.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and always without air conditioning.
- Must be able to work on a platform lift occasionally, which elevates from 5-25 feet while wearing a secured safety harness (OSHA approved harness).
Required to Have:
- Minimum 2 years of related experience with powder coat or liquid paint and process is preferred.
- High School Diploma and/or GED
- Strong interpersonal skills and basic math skills
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively: self-motivated; self-starter.
- Must be able to pass company background check and drug screen.
