Under limited supervision, the Research Laboratory Assistant is responsible for the cleaning of laboratory equipment such as glassware, sinks and tables. The Research Laboratory Assistant is also responsible for preparing solutions, labeling tubes/specimen containers and maintaining laboratory supplies.

As a successful candidate, you will:

• Collect, wash, clean, and sterilize glassware, equipment, and supplies using proper sterilization techniques. Examine glassware for breakage and chips, discarding damaged pieces.
• Receive, distribute, and maintain supply inventories in laboratories as needed.
• Prepare simple stains, solutions, culture media, and process tissue samples following established protocols and procedures.
• Use appropriate equipment to collect and deliver specimens for analysis. Ensure proper labeling and that all pertinent information is obtained on request forms.
• Maintain required records, reports, and statistics as directed.
• Assist in the care and maintenance of the laboratory work area and furnishings/equipment.

Your qualifications should include:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of related experience. Two years of experience preferred.
