We are seeking a Clinical Pharmacist I. The Clinical Pharmacist I will serve as the medication management expert by providing accurate drug information to providers, nurses, and other clinical staff. The individual will supervise technicians during the shift and assist with training/education for pharmacy staff. It is expected that the Clinical Pharmacist I will collaborate with colleagues and provide excellent customer service to patients and staff. Additional duties may include quality and performance improvement activities or others as determined by Pharmacy Leadership.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Collaborates with providers, nurses, and other clinical staff to ensure the medication management process is safe, high quality, and cost-effective for all patients.
- Provide oversight of safe and timely medication use system.
- Oversee compounding in alignment with USP, Board of Pharmacy, and other regulations.
- Ensure medications are received, stored, labelled, transported, and wasted appropriately.
- Ensure controlled substance processes are adhered to.
- Collaborate with members of multidisciplinary health care team to optimize patient’s medication therapy.
- Participates in care coordination and Investigational Drug management for research patients, following all required regulations and practices.
- Actively supports reporting of Pharmacy Interventions, Adverse Drug Reactions, and Medication Errors.
- Participate in pharmacy staff development, including new employee orientation, students, residents and training.
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
- Graduate of ACPE-accredited Pharmacy School or School with ACPE accreditation pending
- Current CA Pharmacist License
- BLS certification or within 3 months of hire
