The Georgia Department of Labor is currently seeking highly motivated, detail-oriented applicants to fill multiple Administrative Hearing Officer 1 positions in the UI Appeals Department.

These are twelve-month time-limited positions.

The selectees will be able to work from a preferred location.

Essential Function and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts administrative hearings in which there is generally conflicting evidence to determine eligibility of claimants for unemployment insurance benefits.
  • Ensures all hearings are conducted fairly while safeguarding the legal rights of all parties.
  • Develops a hearing record and renders a written decision to all parties based on the competent evidence presented in the hearing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of a law degree from an accredited college or university
  • Five years of experience rendering unemployment insurance claims determinations, and interpreting and applying laws regarding program eligibility
  • Other relevant experience may be substituted on a year for year basis

High school diploma/GED and four (4) years of experience in interpreting and applying laws regarding program eligibility; or two (2) years of experience required at the lower level Adjudicator 1 (LEP010) or position equivalent.
