This position will be assigned to the Central Office; however, the position will be remote, with 50% of clinical supervision conducted remotely and 50% conducted on-site. Site assignments will be determined based on geographical location and need. A state car will be provided for travel.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Provide oversight, supervision, and quality assurance of all Alcohol and Drug Abuse (AOD) clinical services, including recordkeeping and direct service work experience hours according to the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Certification Board of Georgia (ADACBGA).
  • Conduct individual and group clinical supervision sessions for counselors working towards their addiction certification.
  • Provide direct supervision to full-time non-credentialed counseling staff by direct observation on-site and/or via videoconference.
  • Serves as a job expert or organization resource in the AOD field.
  • Maintain monthly recordkeeping calculation of clinical supervision hours.
  • Responsible for oversight of the Counselor Certification Preparation Program and clinical services provided on site per policy.
  • Designs and publishes plans for assessing the needs of the programs and the implementation of the plans.
  • Develops and delivers instructional formal presentations and informal training.
  • Maintains established performance and conduct standards in accordance with agency expectations, laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures documentation of clinical supervision progress is completed within required timeframes.
  • Serve as a mentor and coach to help counselors develop new skills.
  • Monitors compliance, evaluates effectiveness and recommends/implements improvements to existing policies.
  • Work collaboratively with onsite staff and coordinate work activities with teammates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Regional travel is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) from Georgia Addiction Counselors Association (GACA) or Alcohol & Drug Abuse Board of Georgia (ADACBGA) or Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS) and LPC OR Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) through the Licensing Professional Counseling Association of Georgia and holds a Alcohol & Drug Addiction Certification (CADC-II) certificate for at least 5 years from ADACBGA. Experience with training and program development and implementation; P.O.S.T General Instructor Training Certification. Must possess CADC-II for a minimum of 5 years and have a minimum of 5 hours of Co-Occurring or Addiction specific continuing education hours per year AND didactic training in clinical supervision.

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of professional job-related experience which includes one (1) year in a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role; or Two (2) years of experience at the lower level Social Svcs Prgm Consultant 2 (SSP041) or equivalent position.
