Job Summary: The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Program Specialist provides specialized guidance, day-to-day technical management and expertise of the WIOA Program.

Essential Functions:
• Provides program technical assistance to staff, students, faculty
administrators and other customers including programmatic and
operational functions in program/operational areas. (25%)
• Ensure participant/student has gathered all required documents
prior to scheduling orientation. (10%)
• Establishes and maintains applicable financial and/or official records. (10%)
• Maintains supplies and equipment and notifies WIOA Coordinator of
the need to replenish supplies or the need for equipment repairs. (5%)
• Share knowledge of services of the Comprehensive and Affiliate One
Stop partners and other community resources. (5%)
• Assist customers with resume, job search, and interview preparation
process (15%)
• Make presentations to WGTC classes as requested for recruitment
of participants/students. (15%)
• Attend job fairs, community events, community organization
meetings and WGTC events for recruitment of participants/students
which may include weekends and evenings (10%)
• Other duties as assigned (5%)


Competencies:
• Case and/or file management experience
• Experience with resume preparation and job search skills
• Customer services experience and skills

Note: WIOA positions are contingent upon federal grant funding

Minimum Qualifications;
• Associate's degree *and* Three (3) years of related work experience
• Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis

Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel
• Knowledge in resume writing and employability skills training
• Preferred qualifications may vary from location to location

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional off ice environment, routinely uses standard office equipment
and t echnologies, and requires business attire and professionalism.


Physical Demands

successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job,
the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects,
tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms; climb stairs, talk, or hear. The employee must
occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds. All physical demands can
be met with reasonable accommodations.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. This position occasionally requires longer hours and some weekend
work.

Travel
Travel to other campus locations is required. Some overnight travel may be required.
