Summary/Objective:
Under direct supervision, performs a variety of semiskilled and skilled building trades work in the repair and maintenance of state buildings and related structures, installs and maintains climate control, of other facilities systems.
Essential Functions:

- Operates plant equipment
- Operates trade related tools and equipment
- Perform general maintenance and repair work on primary production equipment to include sewing machines
- Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure that machines operate smoothly, efficiently and physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate
- Perform general maintenance and repair work on primary production equipment to include sewing machines
- Wears safety equipment and observes all safety practices and regulations.
- Other job duties as assigned by supervision.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a production and warehouse setting This role routinely uses tools, equipment and machinery.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25–30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
The employee must be able to maneuver through the production and warehouse areas, carry, lift, and reach as required.
Working Conditions:
Incumbents working in this job perform duties in a production and warehouse setting. This is a 40-hour workweek requirement. The position may involve managing a high-volume workload and demands a high level of accuracy while working with deadlines. Regular attendance is an important part of being successful in this position. Reasonable accommodation can be made available to qualified individuals upon request.
This position requires the ability to work in an environment without AC and minimal heating.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position occasionally requires long hours and weekend work.
Travel:
Must be able to travel for business, such as customer relations, industry meetings or training, as required.

Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma/GED and two (2) years of experience in building repairs and maintenance or in the specific area of assignment
OR
One (1) year of experience at the lower-level General Trades Tech 1 (FET030) or position equivalent
