General Description

The Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) is a state organization dedicated to partnering with communities to help create a climate of success for Georgia's families and businesses. SUMMARY

The CoC Data Analyst is responsible for collecting and monitoring data needed for HUD-mandated CoC reporting. The Data Analyst assists the CoC Program Manager with any data requests received and takes on special projects such as analyzing racial equity data within the BoS CoC. The CoC Data Analyst also takes the lead on the homeless Point-in-Time Count. This position is currently vacant, and the roles and responsibilities may change somewhat before prior to hiring someone to fill the role.

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors degree AND at least two years of experience with homeless services programs
  • Must be able to competently use the Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who in addition to meeting the agency specific minimum qualifications possess at least one of the following:

  • Experience working directly with HUD CoC and/or ESG funding
  • Experience working with Power BI and/or Tableau
  • Knowledge of Homeless Management Information Systems and associated program reports
  • Experience with data entry and/or reporting using the ClientTrack Homeless Management Information System

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS &ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of all pertinent Federal and State regulations
  • Knowledge of the USICH strategic plan to end homelessness
  • Knowledge of homelessness and homeless services programs
  • Knowledge of System Performance Measures as defined by HUD
  • Knowledge of Longitudinal System Analysis as defined by HUD
  • Experience transforming and analyzing data
  • Strong attention to detail and focused deadline driven work
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, written, and oral communication skills
  • Critical thinking, with a high level of initiation, motivation, and enthusiasm
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines
  • Advanced communication skills, and the ability to communicate with all levels of management, staff, leadership, and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse community and organizational group

WORKING CONDITIONS (TRAVEL, HOURS, ENVIRONMENT)

  • This position exempt, knowing it may include hours which exceed eight hours in a day or forty hours in a week
  • Occasional travel required including air and car travel
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential

PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS

Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of experience required at the lower level Prgm Consultant 1 (GSP090) or any other combination of education and professional experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the job.
