Job Summary

The Department of Education (GaDOE)- Facilities Division/Office of Finance & Business Operations is recruiting for an experienced Education Facilities Consultant. Under limited supervision, consults with assigned local school districts in the area of facility planning. The job responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Provide technical assistance to school systems in the development and maintenance of long-range facilities plans and sources of funding for projects as determined by law, regulations, and State Board of Education (SBOE) rules
  • Provide school systems with state-level student population projections and other necessary information to complete current and proposed organizational studies
  • Provide technical assistance to local district staff in development of project applications for funding
  • Collaborate with local district leadership to convene facility survey committees to review, validate, and make recommendations to local and state boards of education
  • Train local school system staff in the facility plan development process

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:

  • Education specialist in leadership degree
  • Central office, system or district level public school administration experience
  • Experience with facilities planning at the local school district level

****This is a remote/telework position based in Downtown Atlanta. Some statewide travel may be required.

High School Diploma/GED with five (5) years of job-related experience in planning analysis, analyzing data, designing surveys, preparing and writing reports of findings or work related to the area of assignment; or two (2) years of experience required at the lower level Research Analyst 2 (EDP041) or position equivalent.
