This job is a Federal Work-Study, non-benefited position in the Office of Human Resources that reports to the Coordinator of Training and Communication. Federal Work-Study (FWS) is a federally funded program by the Department of Education. This program provides part-time jobs for undergraduate students with significant financial need and is administered by the FWS Coordinator, and the Office of Financial Aid, in accordance with the law, federal regulations, and instructions from the United States Department of Education.

Salary: $13.50 per hour.

Hours: Days and Hours are flexible up to 20 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be eligible for funds through the Federal Work Study Program for the current semester at Gwinnett Technical College and be in good academic standing.

Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to the minimum qualifications, one year of office experience is preferred. A Human Resource Management Program student is also preferred.

Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities need to be successful include:

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently

  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, team-oriented, and able to follow instructions
  • Abide by confidentiality policy, Human Resource policies, and all other state and federal regulations

· Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills

Job Description Summary:
Under close supervision, provides clerical support and office assistance to the Human Resources Department. Job duties include but are not limited to:

Support the Coordinator of Training & Communications with daily operations

Evaluate and process a variety of documents for accuracy and completeness

Help prepare materials for New Employee Orientation (NEO) and employee training events

Assist with employee customer service through email, phone, and in-person
