Lanier Technical College – (www.laniertech.edu) is conducting a search for the following part-time, non benefits-eligible, FLSA-exempt position. POSITION: ADJUNCT ALLIED HEALTH INSTRUCTOR – Different Campus Locations Available

REPORTS TO: Allied Health Program Chair

SALARY: Targeted salary is paid in a lump sum based on contact hours

START DATE: Fall Semester 2024 (Beginning August, 2024)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Adjunct faculty responsibilities centered on didactic and/or clinical instruction to include preparing and teaching classes as assigned. Allied Health faculty and/or instructional staff must direct student learning and assess student progress in achieving the requirements of the program in the appropriate learning domains.

Classes will be taught online and/or in the classroom setting among multiple campuses:

MAJOR DUTIES:
• Provides professional instruction based on approved course syllabus. Ensures that desired course outcomes meet the stated objectives;
• Prepares curriculum and syllabus for coursework taught;

Displays a positive professional attitude toward students and teaching;
• Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives;
Reports to and provides a periodic performance appraisal to the Program Chair and/or Allied Health Instructors;
• Administers and grades class examinations;
• Maintains records of student grades and maintains student files;
• Attends in-service training, workshops and seminars, as needed;
• Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training and laboratory areas;
• Meets ALL required deadlines;
Completes ALL mandatory training;
• Meets with students, staff members, supervisors as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· Technical diploma in medical field or health science field from a regionally accredited college or university

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Current GA LPN or RN license in good standing

· Three (3) years of full-time in-field work experience

· Demonstrated competencies in specific course content as evidenced by education and/or work experience

COMPETENCIES:
  • Knowledge of course standards and skill/expertise in subject area
  • Ability to understand, accept and follow instructions
  • Skill in the operation of work-related computers
  • Appropriate oral and written communication skills that effectively communicate information to students who might function as the new, beginning, or advanced level
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare lesson materials
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Effective decision making and problem solving skills
  • Flexibility to adjust work hours based on the needs of the college
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others in a fair and unbiased manner, and to maintain a pleasant, professional relationship with students and faculty/staff
This position is available at all Lanier Tech campuses; and day and evening classes available.
NOTE: Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions of employment that are appointed on a per-academic-term basis.

Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.
