The Georgia Department of Revenue is hiring for two (2) Tax Examiner 1 positions to support its mission of administering state tax laws efficiently and fairly. The role involves reviewing various registration applications for completeness and compliance with federal and state requirements & communicating with internal and external customers on the status of pending applications and registrations via electronic and in-person interactions.

The Tax Examiner plays a vital role in assisting customers in-person, via phone, and email. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Answering inquiries and addressing customer issues

• Using independent judgment to perform clerical duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Associate degree in accounting or related field ~ or~ one year of job-related experience (e.g., Office Clerk, Secretary, Data Entry, Customer Service Window)

Preferred qualifications include work-related experience using and/or providing instruction for an online registration system and/or work-related experience receiving and responding to emails

* Current DoR temporary associates must have completed at least 6 months on assignment for consideration.

Salary: $38,200

Location: 4125 Welcome All Rd, Atlanta GA 30349 *This role requires a full time in-office presence.
