Pathways Center provides mental health, developmental disabilities, and addictive disease services in the west central Georgia region. Pathways Center's administrative team provides operational support and assistance company-wide, enabling direct support team members to focus on care and service delivery to each client/patient. The individual in this role is a part of the company's administrative team focused on tracking and reporting performance indicators and program outcomes in service delivery and ensuring data integrity for the Pathways Center organization.

Under general supervision, the person in this role performs statistical, financial, and/or operational data analysis and reporting in support of management decision making. Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Specialist include but are not limited to the following:

Maintains and enhances the electronic health record system and monitors system integration with third party vendors

Performs general maintenance and clean-up of the electronic health record system

Extracts data from the electronic health record and other systems to monitor and track program outcomes and performance indicators

Responds to internal and external requests for data

Monitors internal programmatic tracking logs and reviews the information contained for accuracy and completion

Assist with recurring State reporting and monthly programmatic reports

Assists with the entry of authorizations into the electronic health record system

Trends and trouble-shoots issues arising with authorizations that have been denied, pended, or placed under utilization review by third party payers

Partners with Quality Assurance Analysts to communicate program outcomes to clinical teams

Tracks the effectiveness of internal quality improvement cycles

Prepares user-friendly charts, graphs, tables, and other formats to communicate results, identify trends, and facilitate review and discussion of information presented

Partners with other departments, divisions, and service areas to address business or service issues

Exercises various latitudes of independent judgment in researching and reporting areas of inefficiency and providing suggestions for closing performance gaps, including recommendations for system efficiency and integrity

May present analysis of data to various stakeholders, upon request

Provides training and technical assistance to internal stakeholders

Assists with audits and compliance reviews

Provides electronic health record access to personnel, auditors, business partners, etc., as required

Monitors various helpdesks, including providing afterhours and weekend coverage on a rotating basis

Associate degree in communication, English, or public relations from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of experience related to area of assignment. Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.
