JOB SUMMARY:

Leads a diverse range of support, operational, and programmatic activities for a department, agency or facility. Recommends and implements policies and procedures. Directs subordinate supervisors and staff. Will manage large numbers of agency staff or have large scope of responsibility within agency.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Compliance Management:

  • Develop and implement compliance programs to ensure the facility adheres to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and rectify compliance issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.

2. Policy Development:

  • Review and make policy recommendations
  • Ensure all assigned staff are trained in and adhere to these policies.
  • Update the comprehensive evaluation tool to stay in alignment with current policies.

3. Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Oversee the audit process and recommend areas of improvement and corrective actions.

4. Staff Supervision:

  • Supervise and provide guidance to compliance staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities.

5. Reporting:

  • Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management.
  • Maintain accurate records of compliance activities and findings.

6. Coordination:

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to compliance.
  • Liaise with agency partners during inspections and audits.

7. Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay informed about industry best practices and incorporate them into the facility’s compliance programs.
  • Lead initiatives to improve compliance processes and outcomes.
  • Develop and deliver training and technical assistance.

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in operations management, business administration, or a related field which includes three (3) years in a managerial or supervisory role
  • Or seven (7) years of related professional experience which includes three (3) years in a managerial or supervisory role
  • OR three (3) years of experience required at the lower level Mgr, Business Ops (GSM010) or position equivalent.

Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of compliance/audit experience

• 5+ years of leadership/management experience

• 5+ years working in the juvenile justice/corrections/residential placement field
