Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Part-time Commercial Truck Driving (Adjunct) Instructor position. This position is located on Atlanta Tech's main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.

Under general supervision, the Adjunct Commercial Truck Driving Instructor responsibilities will include, but not limited to, training and assisting students in developing the skills necessary to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) on both the driving range and on the road. Under general supervision, demonstrate the use of appropriate teaching techniques and evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives. Request and maintain supplies and equipment. Maintain program certification/accreditation requirements as appropriate. Prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports. Ensure safety and security requirements are met. Meet with students and staff members to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues. Assist with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts. Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field. Maintain qualifications for employment and follow rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must possess and demonstrate a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent and a certificate of completion from a post-secondary institution or driving school in the Commercial Truck Driving field.

Completion of post-secondary CDL certificate program or equivalent 2 years or more of verifiable Over-the Road (OTR) driving experience. Must be able to teach:

  • Pre-trip
  • Backing maneuvers
  • On a 10-speed manual 53-ft commercial truck

Must pass drug screening and have CDL Class A license and medical certificate. Must demonstrate excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
