STATE PROFILE SUMMARY:
Under broad supervision, provides advance level professional support in one or more of the following areas: OMAT, maintenance, construction, intermodal, planning, utilities, surveying, environmental or traffic. May also serve as a lead worker providing training to lower-level staff.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Coordinates the Department's Ride Quality Program, ensuring compliance by each District to the guidelines developed for this program under GDT 126.
· Serves as the principal field resource to the Districts for the operation and maintenance of the Ride Quality Program test equipment
· Perform specialized ride quality testing on projects and experimental sections.
· Modify and upgrade existing equipment to ensure continuing functionality and accuracy of ride quality measurements.
· Evaluate new testing equipment for GDOT use.
· Assist with composing specifications and operational procedures for new/existing testing equipment.
· Ability to travel long distances with overnight stay.
· Possess the stamina to perform testing for extended periods of time.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The selected candidate must meet the advertised minimum qualifications to include State Entry Qualifications as well as Agency Specific Qualifications
STATE ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree in a related field and one (1) year of job-related experience
· OR Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of job-related experience
· OR one (1) year of experience at position equivalent
AGENCY SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:
· One (1) year experience operating a High-Speed Inertial Profiler
· Knowledge of construction practices, policies, and procedures for pavement acceptance.
· Must Possess a valid Georgia Driver's License.
· Must be able to drive an SUV or a van or truck with attached trailer unit.
AGENCY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Two (2) years of experience operating other non-destructive pavement testing equipment.

Good Employment Standing:
In accordance with the Interview and Selection Process (ISP), an applicant must have no active disciplinary actions to be in good employment standing. Actions that may disqualify an applicant include letters of reprimand (active for 12 months after issuance date); suspension without pay or disciplinary demotion (active for 12 months from the effective date); Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) and Leave Restriction Plans (active until 12 months after the date of conclusion). In addition, an employee must have an overall ePerformance rating score of three (3) or higher on their most current evaluation. Please note that Memorandums of Concern are not considered disqualifying factors. Human Resources may remove any employee from consideration for selection who is pending a disciplinary action; however, if the action is resolved in the employee’s favor, he or she will be allowed to compete.
