Federal Work-Study – Bookstore

JOB SUMMARY

The Federal Work Study assists with general clerical duties for a department in a technical college.

MAJOR DUTIES

  • Assists with organizing Bookstore inventory;
  • Performs clerical duties to include making copies, filing, and processing mail;
  • Helps Business Office and Bookstore with special projects;
  • Complies with the policies and procedures of the College and the Technical College System of Georgia;
  • Maintains confidentiality;
  • Works a flexible schedule as needed and arrives at work on time;
  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service when interacting with students and the public;
  • Exhibits cooperative, supportive and professional behavior toward colleagues and the administration;
  • Acknowledges and maintains a clear distinction between professional and personal relationships with students;
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES

  • The ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to break larger tasks into manageable smaller tasks
  • Skill in the operation of computers and job related software programs
  • Organizational skills
  • Oral and written communication skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current enrollment in a SRTC credit program at the location where seeking employment
  • Eligible for participation in the Federal Work Study Program
  • Satisfactory academic progress for Federal Student Aid programs

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

In addition to the minimum qualifications:

  • $10/hour
