Job Summary:

Under general supervision, enters and processes personnel and payroll transactions. Compiles and files employment reports. Searches files and furnishes information to authorized persons.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Performs technical administrative duties in support of human resources activities and operations.

Assisting with Juvenile Correctional Officer (JCO) application screening, compiling eligibility lists, scheduling interviews, and assisting with testing process.

Assists with various onboarding and orientation activities for new hires; prepare new hire information packets; conduct initial new hire meetings with employees and explain employment paperwork.

Assists with coordinating the administration, distribution, and verification of employee benefits program; and provides information to facility staff on plan coverage and procedures.

Update and maintain documents such as organizational charts, staff roster, emergency contact information, employee demographics, and other documents.

Reviews and processes personnel and/or position transactions.

Collaborates with Kronos team to verifies attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments

Complies with all facility safety rules, policies, and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED AND One year of experience performing human resources related functions

OR High school diploma or GED AND One year of post-secondary education at an accredited college or university.

Must have valid Driver License.

Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:

One or more years of experience in a Juvenile Justice environment

Completion of one or more years of college

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to the minimum qualifications, possess two or more of the following:

Two years if progressively responsible clerical experience in human resources.

Experience with using TALEO and PeopleSoft

Equivalent if an Associate of Arts degree with major course work in human resources management, business/public administration, or a related field
