DESCRIPTION:
Under general supervision, the Assistant ASN Program Director-Instructor supports the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) Program Director by facilitating ASN Advisory Committee meetings, coordinating faculty across campuses, mentoring new faculty, and helping to ensure faculty compliance with institutional policies and licensure requirements. Additional duties include managing program administration tasks such as book orders, data collection for accreditation, and assisting the ASN Program Director with accreditation-related reports. The role also builds and maintains effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, The role ensures the program adheres to institutional and accreditation standards while fostering a supportive and effective educational environment. The position reports to the Dean for Health Sciences.
MAJOR DUTIES:
1. Advisory Committee Coordination:
a. Schedule and organize ASN Advisory Committee meetings.
b. Communicate with Advisory Committee members, ensuring timely updates and information sharing.
c. Prepare agendas, distribute meeting materials, and manage logistics for committee meetings.
d. Record and maintain accurate meeting minutes and ensure submission of signed Program of Work and recommendations to Academic Affairs.
2. Faculty Coordination and Development:
a. Coordinate schedules and assignments for adjunct faculty across campuses to meet program needs.
b. Mentor new faculty, providing guidance on institutional policies, program expectations, and best teaching practices.
c. Support new faculty integration into the program’s goals and culture.
d. Ensure completion of adjunct faculty performance evaluations.

3. Compliance and Staff Development:
a. Assist faculty in maintaining compliance with staff development and licensure requirements.
b. Track and document staff development activities to ensure alignment with accreditation and institutional policies.
c. Provide support in meeting faculty licensure and certification deadlines.
4. Program Support and Administration:
a. Manage book orders across all campuses.
b. Assist with the collecting, organizing, and analyzing of data for accreditation, compliance, and program improvement purposes.
c. Assist the Program Director in preparing reports and documentation for internal and external accreditation, compliance, and program reviews.
5. Stakeholder Engagement:
a. Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, advisory committee members and clinical partners.
6. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- A master’s degree in nursing (MSN) from an accredited college or university OR a bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university with documentation of current progress towards an MSN
- Three years’ work experience as a registered nurse within the last five (5) years
· Georgia RN license in good standing
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the minimum qualifications:
- Experience in curriculum development, clinical partnerships, and faculty collaboration
- Prior teaching experience
- Excellent written and verbal skills
Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting/governing bodies.
All required academic transcripts, credentials, licenses, and certifications must be submitted prior to employment.
Salary/Benefits
Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include retirement, paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits Program.
Driver’s License Requirement: Valid GA Driver License
Physical Demands:
· Work is typically performed with the employee sitting at a desk in an office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, or walking in various settings.
· The employee must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
· A full range of hand and finger motion is utilized for data entry purposes.
Travel Requirements: Frequent travel to peer groups or other training/conferences, to the other campuses, and to various other locations, may be required.
Training Requirements:
· Employee understands and agrees to complete all required trainings, to include those mandated by the State of Georgia Governor, by stated deadlines, as a condition of employment.
