Job Summary:
Under general supervision performs security services to the State Board of Workers’ Compensation and its administrative courts. Investigates and documents incidents of breach in security and public disorder: to include criminal arrest and prosecution of serious offenses. Assists Fraud Investigators with criminal investigations.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
· Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision
· Performs security services to the Board and its administrative courts
· Serves as job expert or organization resource in assigned areas
· Collaborates with other authorities on activities such as surveillance, transcription, and research
· Conducts background investigations
· Identifies case issues and evidence needed, based on analysis of charges, complaints, or allegations of law violations for incidents of breach in security and public disorder
· Conduct training for other staff members to include Board wide security training, Enforcement Division GCIC training, and firearms training
· Maintains and monitors records for P.O.S.T. certified division members
· Obtains and verifies evidence by interviewing and observing suspects and witnesses, or by analyzing records
· Obtains information related to cases
· Performs special assignments when needed
· Prepares reports that detail investigation findings
Entry Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent. Applicant must be State of Georgia P.O.S.T. Certified having maintained P.O.S.T. certification in good standing, with a minimum of 5 years law enforcement experience. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Experience in investigations and prosecution of criminal offenses. Candidate must submit to and pass a polygraph examination; undergo a complete background investigation, including criminal and driving history inquiry.
