Job Profile Summary
With minimal supervision, assists with the development and implementation of communications efforts and initiatives to convey a positive identity for the agency. Produces and assists with internal communications to build employee awareness and support agency activities. Delivers educational presentations to member audiences.
Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards
· Tracks Communications projects
· Maintain Communications Project Calendar: Advise of upcoming deadlines
· Manages and maintains website content
· Ownership of content for SharePoint home page
· Provides assistance with Peach State Reserves communications plans and initiatives
· Assist with the creation of Power Point presentations
· Learn and deliver plan educational presentations with oversight and support
· Assists in the coordination, production, and distribution of agency communications materials, such as: board reports, conference submissions, e-newsletters, handbooks, brochures, letters, and financial publications
· Supports design and theme implementation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report
· Maintains plan information materials for each retirement plan
· Prepares and writes scripts, documents, and publications as directed
· Provides assistance with agency communications plans and initiatives
· Gathers and compiles data on latest graphic design trends

ERS Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications from an accredited college or university AND one year of communications or related experience OR Five years of communications related experience OR One year of experience in the lower level Communications Specialist 1 position.

Work Environment
This is a general office environment consisting of cubicle desk space. Ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment are provided as found in a typical office environment.
Travel
Travel 5% Statewide. Georgia driver’s license and reliable car is required. Some overnight travel may also be required.
Physical Demands
Individuals working in this job are required to multi-task while seated. This includes answering phone calls, research information, and typing using computers throughout the workday. Also may require walking periodically, primarily on a level surface. Must be able to reach above shoulder height, below the waist, or lift (up to 25 pounds) to file documents or store materials.
