Employment Terms: This job is a part-time, non-benefited position in the Public and Professional Services Division that reports to the Program Director of Horticulture.
Salary: $15.60/hr
Schedule: May work up to 29 hours a week depending on business needs and budget
Minimum Qualifications (Job Code H1001): High School Diploma or Equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:
Must have or be in current pursuit of an Associate Degree in Horticulture. Preferred applicant will have Certified Pesticide Applicators License – Cat 24 and a valid Georgia driver’s license. Ability to follow both written and oral instruction quickly and accurately. Ability to obtain Georgia Certified Landscape Professional certificate. Experience assisting technical college students and working in a technical college setting is preferred. One (1) year experience in a production landscape design/maintenance/installation environment.
Certain positions are subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. Refusal to take the test or a positive result will lead to separation and a 2-year ineligibility period for state employment.
Additionally, for any employment offer that includes a required drug test, the test must be completed within 48 hours. Failure to comply will result in the offer being rescinded and a 2-year ineligibility period for state employment.
Job Description Summary:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of secretarial and clerical duties. Serves as a liaison between the program/administrative/technical operation and clients. Conducts comprehensive clerical research using a variety of resources to generate reports and respond to requests. Assists in the preparation of special reports and performs special projects for management. May retrieve, screen, open and distribute incoming mail. May monitor and maintain supplies. Maintains filing and record-keeping systems. May assist in the design of web pages for the assigned area. May supervise subordinate employees. Assist with the greenhouse, farm and landscape upkeep. Assist with upkeep of tools and equipment.
