POSITION SUMMARY:

The Data Analyst under the direction of the IT Systems Manager is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to identify trends and provide insights for decision-making.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Regularly query and transform data from Salesforce to deliver reports, voter files, etc for internal teams and external customers.
  • Transform data across multiple formats.
  • Mining data from primary and secondary sources, then reorganizing the data in a format that can be easily read by either human or machine.
  • Using statistical tools to interpret datasets.
  • Automate data retrieval, transformation, etc. and produce reports and visualizations.
  • Collaborating with programmers, engineers, and organizational leaders to identify opportunities for process improvements, recommend system modifications, and develop policies for data governance. Understand data relationships and structures
  • Partake in data cleanup and optimization
  • Documenting and maintaining data dictionaries
  • Producing various reports and validating accurate data.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement database security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
  • Ability to work onsite in downtown Atlanta, Ga with the potential of remote work two days a week (depending on business needs).
  • Contribute to the safe, fair, and secure elections for the citizens of Georgia.
  • Candidate must be a US citizen
  • Will participate in on-call responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Understanding and operational knowledge of SQL, SOSL, and SOQL queries
  • Understanding and operational knowledge of Salesforce
  • Familiarity with AWS RDS a plus
  • Hands on familiarity with data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Grafana, etc.
  • Strong familiarity with a scripting and automation technology, which can include Powershell, Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform, etc.
  • Familiarity with automation/scheduling tools such as PowerAutomate, Apache Airflow, Windmill, etc.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Telegraf, InfluxDB, Zabbix, etc. a plus
  • Familiarity with a statistical language like R..
  • Familiarity with database technologies such as MS SQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, etc.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge.
  • Advanced ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Advanced communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service to both internal customers and external.
  • Demonstrated leadership and project and personnel management skills.
  • Self-managed, upholding timelines, critical dates, and meeting deadlines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • AS degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or another related field.
  • Two to three years of verifiable experience in data analysis, Information Technology, database administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in a hybrid Windows & Linux environment a plus.
  • Experience with database technologies (MS SQL required, MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, etc. a plus) Experience with Salesforce and SOQL/SOSL queries.
  • Licenses and Certifications:
  • Cloud certifications (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Salesforce) a plus.
  • Valid Class C Georgia Driver’s License and satisfactory motor vehicle record.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a nationally accredited university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on data analysis and Salesforce data querying.
