POSITION: SENIOR ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE MANAGER

REPORTS TO: Director of Administrative Services

SALARY RANGE: Low $60’s annually; depending on education and experience

EFFECTIVE DATE: This position is available beginning July 1, 2025

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under general supervision and according to TCSG and LTC established policies and procedures; is responsible for performing a variety of advanced professional accounting duties associated with analyzing and preparing financial reports and financial information. Ensures financial integrity in the billing, collection and accounting for student tuition, fees, financial aid, loan accounts, third party receivables and other institutional receivables. Ensures that all transaction processing, balancing, reconciliation, and related accounting functions are performed in an accurate and timely manner. Supervises, develops, and evaluates staff personnel.

Major Duties:

· Provides training and guidance to less experienced accounting staff;

· Facilitates general accounting functions, for Accounts Receivable and Student Accounts processes;

· Supervises the Student Accounts Manager and A/R Specialist to ensure timely and accurate posting of all payments to student accounts in Banner; ensures accurate recording of revenue and receivables;

· Assists Student Accounts Manager with the due diligence, write offs, and collection process;

· Assists Student Accounts Manager with the refund process to ensure accurate and timely refund processing in accordance with institution, federal, and state compliance guidelines;

· Assists Student Accounts Manager with vendor refund return process;

· Manages employee relations functions of direct reports by identifying training and development needs, and ensuring that necessary job-related instruction and feedback is provided. Follows established procedures for the periodic written evaluation of each employee’s job performance, including quantity and quality of work and performance goals;

· Prepares bond reimbursement invoices and submits to TCSG;

· Records A/R financial activity into the WorkDay A/R module;

· Prepares monthly and year-end reports and reconciliations;

· Collaborate with Student Accounts Manager and Institute departments to manage critical payment deadlines, purge deadlines, and refund deadlines each semester;

· Researches Banner and Financial Aid issues to find and implement resolution;

· Assists Director of Administrative Services with year-end GAAP entries;

· Prepares financial aid reconciliations monthly;

· Maintains complete, accurate, and readily accessible files;

· Other work-related duties as assigned by Supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and three (3) years of related work experience.

COMPETENCIES:

· Knowledge of accounting principles to include GAAP, Government Accounting Standards, and statutory regulations;

· Knowledge of HCM Teamworks and/or WorkDay accounting system;

· Knowledge of Banner student management system;

· Knowledge of Financial Aid awards;

· Effective oral and written communication skills;

· Effective interpersonal relation skills and in dealing with the public;

· Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills;

· Effective skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs, specifically Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel programs; with demonstrated expertise in complex, Excel-based financials;

· Strong analytical abilities;

· Strong organizational skills, project/task management experience;

· Shows persistence and seeks alternatives when obstacles arise; seeks alternative solutions; and does things before being asked or forced to be events;

· Shows flexibility in response to process changes and adapts to and accommodates new methods and procedures.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (in addition to minimum qualifications & competencies)

· More than three (3) years of work-related experience;

· Previous work experience in a post-secondary environment, preferably in accounting;

· Previous work experience working with Banner software.

Physical Demands

Will occasionally lift or move objects of a light to medium weight, up to 20 pounds. Work is typically performed in an office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, or walking in various settings. Full range of hand and finger motion may be utilized for data entry purposes.
