Summary of Responsibilities
The Georgia Department of Education - State Schools is recruiting for a part-time Data Coordinator. This position is responsible for managing, maintaining, and reporting student and State Schools district data to support instructional practices, compliance, and operational efficiency. This role ensures data integrity, supports scheduling and reporting systems, and collaborates with school and district staff to meet local, state, and federal data requirements
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Review, maintain and update student information systems, including entry/withdrawal, demographic, and staff updates
- Serve as the State Schools contact for the Student Information System, responsible for keeping up-to-date on system updates and features
- Coordinate and support the collection, validation, and reporting of assessment and accountability data
- Develop and run queries and reports to support school and district decision-making
- Ensure data security and confidentiality; report any breaches to appropriate authorities
- Provide training and support to school staff on data systems, procedures, and reporting
- Writes procedures manuals regarding data reporting requirements
- Collaborate with school and district staff to ensure accurate and timely data submissions
- Assist in the development and maintenance of data files and reporting tools
- Troubleshoot data discrepancies and system issues
- Support the integration of student data with other district applications
- Exhibit professionalism and demonstrate professional standards; and
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or Director of State Schools
- This position reports to State Schools-Central Office Manager.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. Occasional stooping, kneeling, or crouching may be required. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Additional work hours during the week and weekend, including travel that may be assigned to meet the needs of the school and students.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualification possess one or more of the following:
- Certification in Special Education, General Education or Educational Leadership
- Experience with data reporting and analysis tools (e.g., Excel, web-based system
- Knowledge of student information systems and data reporting requirements
