RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general supervision, instructs and supervises students in Aviation Maintenance Technology.
Develops program and course outlines, goals and objectives; prepares lesson plans for classroom
instruction and laboratory activities in accordance with FAA approved Aviation Maintenance Technology
course standards and curriculum; ensures consistency across syllabi, lesson plans, lab and project sheets,
grading rubrics, examinations, and other instructional materials; completes required FAA documentation
for each student and each course, including attendance records, make up ledgers when applicable, and
work ethics grade forms; evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives; requests and
maintains supplies, materials, aircraft, training aids, and equipment and assists with preparation of
required budget requests; maintains Aviation Maintenance Technology program certification requirements
as set forth by the Federal Aviation Administration; prepares and maintains all required documentation and
administrative reports; ensures safety and security requirements are met in classrooms, laboratories, and
hangar areas; meets with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students’ instructional
programs and other issues impacting student progress; serves as academic advisor to students, as
appropriate; assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts; participates in Aviation
Maintenance Technology advisory committee activities; participates in college committees, meetings, and
professional development activities; monitors condition of aircraft, training aids, and equipment and
reports defective or inoperative items; performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.
