Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated candidate for its Adjunct Instructor - Patient Care Technician (Part-Time) position in the Economic Development Department of Academic & Student Affairs Division. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College’s Main campus, just South of downtown Atlanta, Ga.

Under general supervision of the Executive Director of Executive Development, the Adjunct Instructor - Patient Care Technician - will be a part-time (Adjunct) faculty member that teaches in the Patient Care Technician Program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to helping students develop essential Patient Care skills. This position involves creating and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and contributing to the overall success of the students. Through classroom, lab, and clinical instruction, the instructor will ensure students gain the comprehensive skills, knowledge, and professionalism required for success as a Patient Care Technician. Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions of employment appointed on a per academic term basis. This position may require teaching morning and afternoon and/or Monday through Friday.

Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to the following:

· Demonstrates the use of appropriate teaching techniques.

· Monitors and manages the class schedules for the non-credit Patient Care Technician program, as well as the program's master course schedule.

· Assists in addressing all aspects of verifying program learning outcomes. Prepares and delivers quality curriculum with daily instruction of students.

· Demonstrates the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping requirements.

· Demonstrates the effective use of oral and written communication skills and knowledge of current procedures in the Nursing field. Following approved curriculum standards and course syllabi.

· Monitors students’ use of supplies, materials, and equipment.

· Assist with student recruitment and job placement.

· Advises and counsels students and maintains appropriate records on each student.

· Maintains classrooms and laboratories in accordance with approved classroom and management plans.

· Conducts off-site visits to classroom/lab and clinical sites to ensure proper instruction.

· Attends meetings, professional development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences to maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field.

· Observes and enforces institutional policies, rules, and regulations; maintains qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia.

· Serves on committees and participates in community and college initiatives as directed.

· Maintains qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia.

· Follows rules and regulations as described by the institution.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must possess and demonstrate the following:

· Associate’s degree in nursing.

· Minimum of Two (2) years of nursing experience.

· Active license as a Registered Nurse in good standing with the Georgia Board of Nursing.

· At least 1 year of clinical experience as a Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse in a Long-Term Care Facility.

· Certifications/Licenses:

o American Heart Association CPR certified.

o Holds a Train-the-Trainer Certificate or obtains the certificate upon hire.

o Note: Train-the-Trainer certificate must be completed within one (1) month of hire.
