Position Summary

Under the direction of the Executive Director and/or Senior Investigator, the SEB Investigator conducts independent fact-finding investigations involving allegations of violations of Georgia election law, State Election Board rules, and related election procedures.

The investigator will gather evidence, conduct interviews, review election records and documentation, prepare investigative summaries, and assist in presenting findings for review by the State Election Board.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct investigations involving alleged violations of Georgia election laws and State Election Board rules

Review complaints, affidavits, election records, chain-of-custody documentation, absentee ballot records, voter registration records, and related materials

Conduct interviews with complainants, respondents, election officials, poll workers, and witnesses

Prepare written investigative reports and summaries of findings

Collect, organize, and maintain investigative documentation and evidence

Coordinate with Board staff, legal counsel, county election officials, and other agencies as needed

Assist with election observation and monitoring activities when assigned

Attend meetings, hearings, and proceedings of the State Election Board as necessary

Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all investigative matters

Perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

College Degree

Experience conducting investigations, compliance reviews, audits, inspections, or fact-finding inquiries.

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to prepare clear, detailed written reports

Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and digital record systems

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the State of Georgia

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in election administration, governmental investigations, legal compliance, regulatory enforcement, law, auditing, or public integrity investigations.

Knowledge of Georgia election laws and procedures.

Experience reviewing public records and documentary evidence.

Prior experience testifying or presenting investigative findings

Work Location

Primary work assignments may include travel throughout the State of Georgia. Some remote work may be permitted based on operational needs.
