The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) is seeking highly qualified applicants for their fulltime Training Specialist – Automation (Advanced Manufacturing Technology) in the Office of Quick Start. This position will develop and deliver hands-on training for some of the most innovative companies locating and expanding in Georgia. This is a unique opportunity to step out of a purely production or engineering role and apply your experience in ways that directly impact workforce development, economic growth, and the success of new manufacturing operations. This position is based in the Savannah region.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Delivering engaging classroom and hands-on training in:
o Industrial troubleshooting (mechanical, electrical, basic controls)
o Automation and PLC systems
o Manufacturing quality processes
· Creating and improving training content and curriculum for Industry 4.0 technologies
· Supporting the design and setup of training equipment and lab systems
· Working directly with client companies to assess training needs and tailor solutions
· Collaborating with a team of instructors to ensure high-quality, consistent delivery
· Assists in designing and assembling new Industry 4.0 technology-level training systems.
· Performs periodic on-site client training needs assessments.
· Works with other instructors and leadership to ensure consistent methods and standards are maintained.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associates degree in a technical field and 3 years of experience *Or* Five (5) years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, automation, or a related technical field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
· Lean Manufacturing knowledge/experience.
· Proficient computer and organizational skills.
· Experience with automation, PLCs, or advanced manufacturing systems
· Experience in troubleshooting industrial equipment or systems
· Strong communication and organizational skills
