Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking a professional and polished candidate for one or more Adjunct Instructor – Esthetics (Part-Time) positions in the Academic & Student Affairs Division, Cosmetology department. This position is located at Atlanta Technical College’s Main Campus, just south of Downtown Atlanta, Georgia.
Under the general supervision of the Dean of Business & Public Services Technologies and the Department Program Chair, you will play a pivotal role in teaching our Esthetics program to the students at Atlanta Technical College and guiding them through theoretical and practical courses associated with advanced techniques in skin care. If you are passionate about esthetics, have a knack for teaching, and enjoy working in a collaborative environment, we encourage you to apply for this position! This is part-time position, up to twenty-nine (29) hours per week.
The job duties include, but may not be limited to, the following:
- Ensure the provision of high-quality discussions, learning, and communication.
- Grade course materials such as quizzes and tests.
- Follow and comply with all state compliance laws and requirements (e.g., HIPAA, esthetics regulations, OSHA).
- Prepare and present program materials to meet program/course objectives (e.g., PowerPoint slides and class assignments).
- Maintain accurate student attendance, assignments, and grades in the College's Learning Management System.
- Assist students with navigating both online and in-person learning environments; and
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
COMPETENCIES:
- Oral and written communication skills
- Skill in effectively explaining concepts and techniques to students
- Ability to patiently provide support to students as they develop competencies in Esthetician modalities and techniques
- Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with adult learners
- Willingness to commit to ongoing professional development as well as continuing independent education
- Willingness to maintain your Esthetics License and Esthetics Instructor License
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess and demonstrate the following:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current Esthetics or Master Cosmetologist License in the State of Georgia.
- Current Esthetics or Master Cosmetology Instructor in the State of Georgia.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
- Proven three (3) years of experience as a licensed esthetician.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess and demonstrate proven teaching experience and knowledge of student information systems.
