Project Management Supervisor (E7) – Transmission Project Management (PMO)

JOB SUMMARY

The Project Management Supervisor will be responsible for providing leadership and direction for Assistant Project Managers (APMs) and Project Managers (PMs) on activities associated with transmission line and substation capital construction projects. These positions will oversee statewide project management teams in Area Development, Area Execution, and Customer Choice, and will also be responsible for developing training programs for these teams.

Job Requirements

  • Education

    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering or related field

    • Advanced degree and/or PE/PMP certification is a plus

  • Experience and Knowledge

    • Formal supervisory experience with performance management responsibilities is a plus

    • A minimum of 5 years combined experience in any of the following areas is preferred:

      • Transmission Planning, Transmission Design/Engineering, Transmission Construction, Transmission Maintenance& Support, Transmission Operations, and/or Power Delivery Project Management
    • Proven experience in successfully managing internal and external relationships

    • Knowledge of contract administration

  • Proven leadership abilities and commitment to Safety Excellence

  • Familiarity with project management principles and techniques including the Gated Process preferred

  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the transmission system, engineering principles, electric operating practices, construction practices, land requirements and regulations, budgeting, scheduling, and general business practices

  • Strong ability to collaborate with PMO Leadership and various GPC partners (Land, Supply Chain, Engineering, Construction, Transmission Operations, Transmission Maintenance & Support, Transmission Planning, Capital Portfolio Manager, etc.)

  • Experience with STOMP, TEAMS (Transmission Estimating and Management System), and/or P6/Primavera preferred

  • Ability to implement current and emerging project management practices to enhance the PMO’s effectiveness in meeting business objectives.

  • Exhibits strong initiative and ability to make difficult decisions with the awareness to get management involved when necessary and in a timely fashion

  • Adaptable to internal and external demands

  • Ability to develop creative solutions to solve problems and balance the needs of the Company and external public

  • Ability to resolve conflict between individuals and functional areas

Additional Information

Approximately 25% travel will be required for this role.
