JOB SUMMARY:
Application/Solutions Architect II works with stakeholders – both business and IT to gather functional and non-functional requirements, define and develop data-oriented solution architecture involving modern data and Microsoft Azure technologies that align with and support the business and technology organization strategy and standards. Additionally, this position will be responsible for management and alignment of solutions across all technology platforms working closely with enterprise architects, developers, data and infrastructure teams to optimize application code, ensuring reusable services, optimizing performance, planning capacity and ensuring app/data security.
This position reports to Supervisor, Data Delivery & Operations
JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills )
A degree in Computer Science or a related field is required. An advanced degree is desirable.
7 or more years of relevant architect experience.
Data oriented solution architecture development experience utilizing Both On-Premises and Cloud (Azure) modern data architecture platforms and patterns.
Experience communicating technical architectures and concepts with non-technical audiences.
Hands on experience architecting and implementing data engineering and analytics solutions using tools such as Informatica, Goldengate, Kafka, MSBI, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure ML, Azure AI, Python, Azure Key Vault and Power BI.
Ability to create context diagrams as well as conceptual, logical and physical architecture as well as data orchestration diagrams.
Hands-on experience designing and developing data models for structured and unstructured datasets.
Hands-on experience designing and developing solutions involving data sourcing, enrichment and delivery using APIs & Web Services.
Hands-on experience developing big data technologies such as Distributed file Systems such as ADLS and Spark
Microsoft Azure Solution Architect and Data Engineer Certifications are preferred
Experience in Data Governance processes and tools such as Informatica Data Catalog
Experience with Agile as well as DevOps, CI/CD methodologies
Experience in Azure Administration including security
Experience in Data Quality processes and tools such as DQS
Experience in Orchestration and Scheduling tools such as Autosys
Experience with Agile methodology and tools such as JIRA
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create, document, and evangelize IT solutions and reference architectures with a focus on data
Design, develop, and integrate prototype solutions and services to assist with business development or customer demonstrations
Rearchitect existing and design new systems that integrate with our legacy systems, Commercial-Of-The-Shelf packages, SaaS applications, and data systems
Work with Technology Organization peers, business partners, Enterprise Decision Support and Governance team to understand and package the right set of capabilities into a solution that meets the specific need
Design solutions that accommodate all aspects of the lifecycle and personnel including migrations, deployment, monitoring, training, and support
Define, communicate and enforce best practices/standards/frameworks
Communicate in non-technical terms, understand requirements and guide developers with suitable, integrated digital solutions
Understand broad GTS capabilities and build a network of resources to support solutioning and quality of delivery
Drive and provide architecture review and contingency plans and documentation aligning to industry best-practices and Technology Organization policy and regulations
Lead the solution architecture through the delivery process
Develop conceptual architecture as needed
Act as a technical advisor for GTS ensuring the project is delivered and leverages leading practices and frameworks
Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to support teams
