Engineering Team Leader – Savannah Distribution Area

Position 1 - Engineering Team Leader – Savannah DA (Savannah)
Position 2 - Engineering Team Leader – Savannah DA (TBD depending on candidate pool and the needs of the region)
Location –Candidate(s) must live in or be willing to relocate to a commutable distance from the headquarters. Relocation assistance will be available if needed.

Job Summary: The Engineering Team Leader will be responsible for providing leadership, direction and performance management for distribution activities to direct reports within their assigned headquarters. They will provide safety leadership, budget management, construction scheduling, and compliance measures where needed and contribute to reliability and capital improvement strategy in the Distribution Area. The Engineering Team Leader will be a Team Leader with primary responsibilities of supporting, developing, and training new talent for the Distribution Area. In addition to performance management opportunities, the successful candidate will be expected to support engineering co-ops and promote strategic thinking about the overall workforce. The successful candidate will also be a technical expert, leading engineering on a large scale, high impact projects in the area, while demonstrating world class customer service. In addition, they will be expected to participate in and lead Distribution Area wide initiatives, projects and committees. This role will participate in the Supervisor on-call rotation and lead local storm restoration efforts, as well as on system and off system storm events.
Education Requirements
Engineering degree preferred
Professional Engineering license a plus
MBA or Masters Degree is a plus
Experience
Excellent safety record and knowledge of Section “0”
Three or more years of Distribution Engineering experience in a power utility company is required
Must have proven Time Management experience involving multiple projects and customer requests.
Experience in SERP restoration efforts required
Storm team leadership experience preferred
Experience with engineering design, construction and maintenance, compliance, managing manpower, reviewing job estimates, and asset management in a power utility company
Experience with IBEW covered personnel, system design experience, and serving on committees at a statewide level is preferred
Previous experience designing and presenting large and complex projects in a power utility company to higher level management for approval is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
The position requires an in-depth knowledge of electrical distribution systems as well as distribution requirements, practices and procedures
Ability to act as a technical specialist is required
Customer service focused with the ability to negotiated to match customer needs with company requirements
Broad understanding of the company’s operations, policies, and procedures
Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
Working knowledge of TCMS, ARCOS, CSS, JETS, OFS, and strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Must be able to lead and develop a diverse workforce, maximizing team effectiveness, set high expectations of those around them and hold employees accountable for those expectations
Must have the ability to work through customer concerns and communicate resolution to all parties
