Project Manager, Customer Choice (E7) – Transmission Project Management Organization (PMO)
JOB SUMMARY
The Customer Choice Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, development, and execution of transmission line, substation, and STATCOM capital construction projects supporting customer choice initiatives within Georgia. This role ensures that projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality, reliability, and stakeholder satisfaction.
The Project Manager will coordinate across engineering, construction, and operations teams to manage project scope, schedule, and resources, ensuring that STATCOM installations and other critical infrastructure are effectively integrated into the transmission system to enhance grid stability and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership: Leads projects to successful completion, ensuring accountability and contribution from all team members. Lead end‑to‑end project management for transmission line, substation, and STATCOM construction projects.
Project Development and Input: Provide valuable input during the initial stages of project development to ensure alignment with customer and business objectives
Coordination: Coordinate the design, engineering, procurement, construction, and closeout phases of project ensuring seamless integration and execution
Monitoring and Reporting : Monitor project progress, schedules, and budgets, with a particular focus on high-risks areas to mitigate potential issues
Change Management: Oversee the project change management process to ensure all adjustments are effectively managed and communicated
Post-Project Review : Conduct thorough post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and share insights for continuous improvement. Support post‑construction commissioning and integration of STATCOMs into the transmission network.
Stakeholder Management : Develop relationships and engage with both internal and external stakeholders to manage expectations, address concerns, and ensure a high level of satisfaction and collaboration
Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage project risks to minimize impact on project delivery and outcomes.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all project deliverables meet the required quality standards and specifications.
Cost Management: Utilize project management expertise to minimize capital costs while maximizing customer satisfaction.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Educational/Certification Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in transmission, substation, or power delivery project management.
Strong understanding of transmission system design, construction, and STATCOM technology.
Proven ability to manage complex, multi‑disciplinary capital projects.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials preferred.
Experience with utility or customer choice programs is a plus.

Knowledge of contract administration
