Job Description:
We are looking for a hands-on Quality & Manufacturing Engineer to support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of integrated quality and manufacturing systems. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in mechanical or manufacturing engineering and a passion for driving product quality, operational efficiency, and cross-functional collaboration in a robotics or electromechanical environment.
Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Engineering
- Support process design and optimization for robotic and electromechanical assembly lines.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and control plans.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, SMED, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth new product introductions (NPI) and design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Integrate in-line inspection, poka-yoke systems, and fixtures to improve assembly quality and repeatability.
Quality Engineering
- Build and maintain customized quality inspection programs (incoming, in-process, and final).
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Utilize quality tools such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) to monitor and improve product and process performance.
- Interface with customers for audits, complaint resolution, and quality reporting.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards (ISO 9001, UL, OSHA, RoHS, etc.).
Systems and Improvement
- Participate in the development of scalable quality and manufacturing systems to support high-growth production.
- Assist in the selection and implementation of digital tools for traceability, data collection, and process monitoring.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across quality and manufacturing functions using data-driven methods.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Process Engineering.
- 5–10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (robotics, automation, or complex hardware preferred).
- Solid understanding of quality systems, process development, and data analysis techniques.
- Proficiency in tools such as Minitab, JMP, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills.
- Experience in robotic assembly or electromechanical systems.
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent knowledge.
- Familiarity with ERP, MES, or QMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MasterControl).
- Understanding of GD&T and technical drawing interpretation.
