The Warehouse Supervisor oversees receipt, storage, and shipping of products, product movement and storage systems, improving operational efficiency, and assigning tasks to staff. This should result in ensuring that all product delivery targets and production goals are achieved. Also must communicate with Sales and Customer Service staff regarding individual shipment delays as needed.
Provides warehouse operations human resources support by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, and coaching employees. Communicating job expectations, assignment planning, monitoring, reviewing, and appraising employee job performance, and contributions. Overseeing company policies, procedures and Standard Operating Procedures.
Achieves proficiency objectives by reporting warehouse operational issues, recommendations, and status updates to management. Reviews, prepares and executes action plans for the improvement of production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards. Completes inventory and cycle counting events in a timely and accurate manner.
Develops warehouse operational flow for processing inbound, and out bound shipments both LTL and truckload. Determines priorities for warehouse laborers on a daily basis dependent upon orders and time sensitive shipments. Assists in determining product handling and storage requirements, implements, and oversees, processes for receiving product, equipment utilization/maintenance, inventory management, and shipping.
Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. Takes responsibility for securing products in stock and related equipment.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Standard business hours are Monday- Friday 8:00am -5:00pm but additional hours maybe necessary. Applicant should have the ability to travel if deemed necessary for training or fill in at other locations.
Reporting:
Warehouse managers report directly to the National Warehouse Manager and indirectly to the General Manager.
Education:
A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required. College education in relate fields preferred.
Experience:
Should have a minimum of 2-3 years verifiable work experience in warehouse operations or related field.
Skills/Qualifications:
Excellent ability to manage processes, labor, and communication skills. Provide daily supervision of all warehouse operations. Must have excellent data entry, reporting, communication, and time management skills. Must be able to handle multiple priorities, changes in priority and be able to hit deadlines as required. Should have a high level of self-motivation and a desire to continuously perform at consistently high levels. Should demonstrate a solid work ethic and take pride in the Warehouse Supervisor position.
Standard business hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am -500pm but additional hours may be necessary.
