Areas of accounting responsibility encompass all topics existing in NASP/Corp, including Revenue, Inventory, Expenditures, among other accounting topics of a manufacturing business. In addition to technical accounting expertise, process and control proficiency is critical. This role is expected to identify improvement opportunities and take initiative to drive those improvements. This also includes leading broader initiatives that transcend NASP/Corp, such as process harmonization and shared service expansion.
Candidate must exhibit communication, leadership and influencing skills, both with direct reports and also with peers across the organization. We expect this individual to be driven, with an appetite to increase scope in department through leveraged efficiency gains. Candidate must approach work with both a strategic and tactical mindset, seeking to implement better methods while also meeting the immediate deliverables.
Responsibilities:
- Manage full cycle month-end close process for NASP/Corp including oversight of 3 senior accountants. This includes:
- Technical and process ownership of accounting (Revenue, Inventory, Expenditures)
- Collaborate with business leaders to assess accounting implications of various business situations (e.g., customer contracts or rebates, leases, etc.)
- Oversee and review judgmental reserves
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Lead FP&A for Corporate departments, including oversight of one FP&A analyst.
- Support external audit process
- Investigation and explanation of results and variances
- Various ad-hoc topics, analysis, and special projects
- Continually seek to drive continuous improvement and efficiency on behalf of NASP/Corp and Mauser organization
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Graduate level degree preferred (MBA, Master of Accounting)
- 8+ years of accounting experience, including month-end close oversight and BS/PL Analytics
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Enjoys agitating status quo.
- Large ERP system experience is preferred (SAP in particular)
- Strong Excel skills a must, strong data analytics
- Strong attention to detail required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Big 4 accounting firm experience preferred
- CPA certification preferred
