This position is considered to be Fully Onsite, work is to be done onsite at a PetSmart location (Phoenix Home Office, PetSmart stores, Merchandise Development Center, Distribution Centers or another PetSmart site).


About the Job

The Sr. HR Business Partner will be a strategic support partner to the leadership within the Distribution Center (DC) located in Newnan, GA. The position is responsible for the development and delivery of key initiatives to achieve the DC’s strategic objectives, in partnership with DC leadership, and will have a proven track record being a proactive HR professional focused on change management, leadership development, engagement, and retention. This position supports 400+ non-exempt associates and 40+ leaders in a distribution center operation. In this role will provide front line, hands-on support in work force planning, change management, associate relations, leadership development, and performance appraisal/planning to improve organizational effectiveness and performance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Partners with the Sr. HR Manager to help develop and deliver the HR strategy for the DC.
  • This role will use metrics, data and analytical feedback to understand and assess where the “health” of the organization is at and make recommendations to build a plan to improve or sustain a positive work experience.
  • Actively participates as a business partner with the DC leaders to provide HR strategic support and consultation. This role will support with the objective of driving improved value to the business and provide regular coaching, guidance, and feedback to help manage the health in the DC.
  • Works closely with and maintains consistent communications with the Distribution Center Leadership team, and the HRM, collaborating where necessary on associate relations and other pertinent issues.
  • Consults with and advises the management team on organizational planning, salary administration, leadership development, and other HR services.
  • Promotes and strengthens the positive work environment by actively listening and appropriately responding to associate/leadership concerns with a sense of urgency.
  • Collaborates with the Sr. HR Manager to identify training and leadership development needs and implement solutions. Facilitates training sessions on topics such as diversity and inclusion, positive associate relations, and leadership development.
  • Supports talent management and Everyday Performance Management initiatives, including coaching good and poor performance. Supports front line leaders on the coaching to correct process, including disciplinary actions and terminations. Represents the HR Team by attending weekly performance review meetings.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years Human Resources or related experience
  • BA/BS degree in Human Resources preferred; PHR/SPHR certification a preferred.
  • Previous experience in organizational planning, change management and leadership development.
  • Previous experience in a distribution center environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and coach at all levels.
  • Ability to be flexible and successfully handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Technical Skills

  • Must possess excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Must possess outstanding organizational skills, including attention to detail.
  • Must demonstrate ability to build partnerships/relationships with internal and external partners, leveraging interpersonal skills to build trust.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Must demonstrate excellent change management skills to help others adapt with change in direction.
  • Must be proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite including experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Must demonstrate a high level of intellectual, professional, and interpersonal ability and flexibility.
