Nursing Professional Development Coordinator, PT, Piedmont Columbus Midtown
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
The Professional Development Coordinator provides oversight and implementation of several robust academic and professional development programs at Piedmont Columbus Regional. The Professional Development Coordinator functions as the facilitator of programs aimed at the development and retention of nurses, including but not limited to, the facilitation of student nursing apprenticeships, maintaining records and scheduling of student nurses, and facilitating the Clinical Ladder program. This individual will serve a key role in professional recognition for experienced nurses and the attraction of new talent to the organization.
The Professional Development Coordinator will be an experienced, competent nursing professional who serves as a resource and liaison between our organization and our academic partners. The Coordinator will work closely with nursing leadership on overall recruitment and retention initiatives in concert with local strategic goals, initiatives.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Five or more years of professional clinical experience required. Previous training and/or precepting experience preferred.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Georgia. One specialized professional certification preferred.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Coordination/facilitation of multiple and varied activities, with the ability to shift priorities as needed. Ability to work with diverse groups and multidisciplinary health professionals at all levels. Literate in various computer application skills. Ability to provide professional written and verbal communication, group facilitation, educational planning and presentation. Must be self-motivated and self-directed with strong customer service, problem solving, interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skill. Analytical skills with the ability to utilize data to drive programmatic results. Must have the ability to develop and nurture mutually beneficial relationships with the organizations academic partners. Must have the ability to manage academic affiliation agreements and clinical rotation guidelines, as required.
