Executive Director-Central Operations

Description:

JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for the management of Central Operations for the Physician Enterprise, specific to the management of Provider Enrollment and the Central Verification Office. Provides leadership, management and operational oversight of the relevant central operation departments. Works collaboratively with senior leadership to organize, direct and coordinate programs and activities to ensure that the strategies of the medical staff, physician enterprise, and research organization are supported and attained, also goals and plans are realized and there is adherence to the requirement of regulatory and accreditation bodies that are relevant to the organized medical staff and research enterprise. Directs and supports the day to day operational policies, objectives and initiatives of central operations, which includes implementing and overseeing operational activities and programs to ensure the attainment of the business plans, ensuring an effective operating environment, and safe operations of all patient services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Monitors the performance, compliance, operation, and viability of the Central Verification Office and Provider Enrollment Office, and ensures critical business processes are operating properly and identify ways to continually enhance their compliance, functionality, and performance.
2. Manages and develops policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and legal requirements, and reduce risk to PHC.
3. Coordinates and maintains effective office procedures and efficient work flows, and acts as liaison between the medical staff, nursing and ancillary staff and Administration within the parameters established by Administration, the Medical Staff Leadership and the Governing Board.
4. Partners and collaborates with the Piedmont Compliance Office to educate, evaluate, and address programs compliance issues and risks.
5. Ensure programs serve the needs of Piedmont, physicians, and the patients within the Piedmont community.
6. Carries out major strategies, policies, and programs as determined by Executive Leadership.
7. Coordinates activities among various designated operating divisions to facilitate delivery of high-quality patient care and services, while focusing upon efficiency in operations and opportunities for cost reduction.
8. Provides ongoing feedback, coaching, and support to direct reports, encouraging professional development and helping leaders reach their full potential while achieving operational success.
9. Interprets and effectively administers policies in order to carry out organizational objectives.
10. Collaborates with other System functions such as Real Estate, PMO, Revenue Cycle, etc. on execution of projects and related measurements.
11. Collaborates with Piedmont Clinic staff to expand and provide services to Piedmont Clinic physicians.
12. Coordinates and helps implement the work of the patient experience and clinical performance improvement initiatives where operational support is needed.
13. Demonstrates accessibility to the Medical Staff, Vice Presidents, and Directors, and effectively addresses care and service issues as they arise.
14. Supports strategic focus of various specialties within PHC.
15. Annually assess performance of reporting departments and the effectiveness of respective leaders.
16. Other duties as necessary or as assigned.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
A Masters degree, or equivalent experience, from a recognized college or university in business administration, healthcare administration or a closely related field is required.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Ten (10) years of progressively responsible work experience in a senior management position in a medical practice setting, healthcare administration or a closely related field is required.
