Description:

JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for strategic planning, organization, staffing, budgeting, training, orientation, compliance and quality improvement of Outpatient Pharmacy Services for the Health System. This includes direct oversight of retail, specialty, and home infusion pharmacy services in Athens as well as indirect (matrix) oversight of specialty pharmacy programs across the system as well as any future outpatient pharmacy ventures. This leader also works with Piedmont Healthcare health plan leaders regarding pharmacy benefits offered.


Provides leadership for outpatient pharmacies including record keeping, billing standards compliance, quality improvement activities, and maintaining all policies and procedures in accordance with Joint Commission, ACHC, URAC and other applicable accreditation and regulatory bodies. Works to ensure that the identified needs of the medical staff, patient, family, co- workers and other customers are addressed in a timely and efficient manner.
Oversees compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements related to all aspects of medication management including treatment protocols, compounding, medication delivery and administration. Responsible for expansion of outpatient pharmacy services, finding and developing new business opportunities, and monitoring the financial viability of each service.

The candidate selected must be able to work full-time in an office space in Atlanta, Athens, or Columbus. They will report to our Vice President of Pharmacy & Lab Services. The primary responsibility is oversight of one existing specialty pharmacy (Athens) and one specialty pharmacy in the process of opening (Columbus). Routine travel to both locations would be expected. Other responsibilities include working with Piedmont Healthcare's Health Plan and Physician Enterprise to grow the specialty pharmacy business.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelors degree in Pharmacy


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Seven (7) years of progressively responsible outpatient pharmacy experience.


MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Registered Pharmacist (RPh) licensed in the state of Georgia
