Cardiac Advanced Practice Provider Acute Care Services Piedmont Augusta
Piedmont Heart Institute (PHI) is recruiting for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Acute Care Services (ACS) team at Piedmont Augusta Hospital. This is a full-time position that provides general cardiology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) coverage seven days a week during the days (no night coverage at this time).
There is a team of physicians and APPs that staff the PHI Acute Care Service team in consulting and caring for patients. PHI ACS is a consult-only service, not a primary service. The majority of patients are typically housed in the Heart and Vascular Tower, but the team will see patients throughout the hospital. APPs are responsible for making the consult list for the day, chart reviewing, and gathering information about their patients, and seeing and evaluating patients while constructing a plan of care. APPs will be expected to obtain consent for procedures, place pre-procedure orders and perform lab review and medication reconciliation. It is not in the teams regularly scheduled week, but times will arise during which APPs will need to assist with stress testing.

In this position you will:
- Assist in the evaluation and treatment of Cardiology patients in an inpatient setting
- Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations, and record the data in the patients record
- Write consult and progress notes
- Prepare patient workups
- Order and schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients as direct patient care services are delivered
- Work alongside Physicians and other Cardiology Advanced Practice Providers in a collaborative team.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Masters or Bachelors Degree from an Accredited PA program and National Board Certification

Licensed as a Nurse and approved to practice as a NP by State of Georgia with National Certification.
