Lead Network Engineer
Description:
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
The Lead Network Engineer's role is to design, build, and implement network systems across the enterprise. This includes planning, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all local, wireless, wide area and Internet network connections, associated software and communication links. Coordination with Internet Service Providers to install and configure new connections and develop global load balancing across Internet connections. Recommendation and design of SNMP network management software and other diagnostic tools to insure reliable network operation. The Lead Network Engineer will collaborate with management to develop network upgrade projects and then lead and train departmental staff in the project. This person will also troubleshoot very complex network performance issues, as well as analyze network traffic and provide capacity-planning solutions.

Qualifications:MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field required.
In lieu of degree, four (4) years of relevant work experience will be accepted in addition to the experience
requirement.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Five (5) years of work experience including hands-on knowledge of the installation, implementation, and maintenance of Cisco networking equipment is required.
(If no degree, a total of nine (9) years of experience required.)
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
None.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Cisco Certified Internet Engineer (CCIE) is preferred.
