Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE:

The Program Director must have responsibility, authority, and accountability for: 1) administration and

operations, 2) teaching and scholarly activity, 3) resident recruitment and selection, 4) evaluation and promotion

of residents, 5) disciplinary action, 6) supervision of residents, and 7) resident education in the context of

patient care. The Program Director must administer and maintain an educational environment conducive to

educating residents/fellows in each of the ACGME competency areas and in conformance with Piedmont

Healthcare policies and procedures. Additionally, the Program Director must maintain clinical practice in addition

to their administrative duties.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

MD/DO from an accredited medical school

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

3 years of graduate medical education experience, including educational and administrative duties.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:

MD - License to practice medicine in the state of Georgia or the ability to obtain a full, unrestricted license in Georgia

DO - License to practice medicine in the state of Georgia or the ability to obtain a full, unrestricted license in Georgia

Current ABMS or ABOMS Certification in Specialty

Any other qualifications as specified by the specialty-specific program requirements, RRC, or accrediting body.
