Public Safety Investigator
Responsibilities: Investigates and determines the scope, timing, and direction of crime and fraud investigations. Supports all security functions to maintain a safe and secure environment. Responsible for the safe de-escalation of critical events and the use of sound judgment in the engagement with combative or escalating subjects. Obtains and verifies evidence by interviewing and observing suspects and witnesses or by analyzing records. Identify case issues and the evidence needed based on an analysis of charges, complaints, or allegations of policy/law violations. Records evidence and documents, using equipment such as cameras, photocopy machines, electronic medical records, access control systems, etc. Testify in criminal justice proceedings concerning criminal activity investigations. Conducts other security-related functions as required by the chain of command. Qualifications: Education
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
- Bachelors Degree in healthcare management/ business administration, criminal justice, or other related fields Preferred
- 4 years general security, military or other public safety experience Required
- 2 years of investigative experience Required
- 2 years experience in a related job where required to actively carry a firearm in the regular course of duty Preferred
- Required to pass psychological screening during pre-employment screening. Required
- Required to take periodic call. Required
- Required to travel up to 50% of time to Piedmont Facilities across the System. Required
- May be required to carry less lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or an expandable baton
- May be required to carry company approved firearm
- May be required to carry a lethal or less-lethal weapons the Investigator must pass and maintain all training requirements
- IAHSS - Certification As A Security Officer Certified Healthcare Security Supervisor (IAHSS) & Certified Advanced Healthcare Security Officer (IAHSS) within 1 Year Required
- Professional Certified Investigator (ASIS) within 2 Years Required
- Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (IAHSS) Preferred
- Active Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification Preferred
