Responsibilities:
Responsible for providing leadership and direction for service lines within the IS Application Services teams. This position is responsible for the design, evaluation, project planning, implementation and support of Piedmont Healthcare application systems for the assigned service lines. The Director of Application Services is also responsible for providing leadership in the management of the Patient Care, Access to Care, Business Support or Project Administration including the support of business, administrative and clinical initiative and for the oversight and delivery of all applications that they are assigned. Serves as backup leader to Sr. Director.
What you will do
- Selects, implements, and maintains applications component of the IS tactical plans.
- Plans, organizes, directs and controls applications, including enhancement and maintenance projects in conjunction with customer requirements.
- Develops, implements, updates and maintain applications policies, standards, and procedures where appropriate to improve quality and productivity.
- Develops, implements and maintains IT applications development strategic plans and projects that align with and enhance PHC business strategies.
- Provides leadership, guidance and assistance to sites, departments, service lines and individuals in the development of related pharmacy and oncology system needs.
- Directs and guides the IS applications services group to achieve selection, implementation and maintenance of the highest quality for the System.
- Provides overall management of the IS Application Services teams service lines as assigned.
- Works with Executive Director to review and prepare annual IS department business plan.
- Works with PHC leadership in selection, design, implementation and administration for specific service line applications for Piedmont Healthcare Systems, including application configuration, data integration, reporting and design and execution of operational support.
- Works with other IS management representatives to establish and coordinate department standards and priorities.
- Develops goals and mentors staff as appropriate.
- Monitors key performance indicators and metrics.
- Provides consultative, technical and decision making support to leadership regarding information system projects and operational improvements or initiatives.
- Collaborates with leaders in the systems participation in collaborative process improvement projects identified by pharmacy leadership.
- Develops, implements, manages and reports on IS service level agreements.
- Fulfills the role of a subject matter resource for staff and teams.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education- Graduate of an accredited ACPE school of pharmacy Required and
- Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy Required
- Masters Degree in business administration, computer or information technology, or a closely related field Preferred
- 7 years of progressively responsible professional work experience directing, leading and/or managing computer and information systems, or a closely related field, preferably in a multi-facility healthcare environment Required
- Experience to include three (3) years of management or supervisory experience Required
- None Required
- Certification in ITIL methodologies Preferred
