Responsibilities:
Provides direct clinical instruction, supervision and evaluation for 8 to 10 nursing students engaged in direct patient care on a nursing unit. Clinical experiences are typically 8 to12 hours shifts and can include days, nights and weekends. Nurses working as clinical instructors also meet criteria for employment with the respective College or University for which they are assigned students. Nursing clinical instructors will be teaching and are investing in the development of the next generation of nurses, and may serve as adjunct professors for nursing schools that are placing students on nursing units.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing Required
- Masters degree in Nursing Preferred
- 3 years of full-time work experience as a registered nurse within the last seven years Required
- Prior experience serving as a lab and/or clinical instructor in an associate or baccalaureate degree nursing program leading to initial licensure as a registered nurse Preferred
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support Required
- Specialty certification Preferred
