Job Summary

The Senior Director, Corporate Development and Strategic Analysis leads strategy, evaluation, and execution of mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures (i.e., “M&A” activities), as well as analysis on key strategic initiatives for the organization. Partnering closely with the CFO, Finance, and senior leadership, this position owns sourcing and evaluating deals and leading due diligence review with a focus on driving value creation through rigorous financial analysis. Additionally, the Sr. Director will partner with the CFO to shape, lead, and develop the annual long range planning process, three-year financial model, and analysis of various strategic initiatives for the company. The Sr. Director partners with organizational leadership across Finance, Operations, Sales, Transformation, Legal, Human Resources, etc. related to the business impact of M&A and the company’s multi-year financial planning. This role requires deep focus on financial analysis and a keen understanding of commercial drivers, synergies, and risk.

Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Serves as a key member of the Finance organization with primary responsibility for corporate development (M&A) and long-range planning.
  • Leads the enterprise long-range planning process, partnering with executive leadership to define value creation levers, develop business cases, and build financial models that quantify strategic impact.
  • Owns the design, maintenance/adaptation, and enhancement of the company’s three-year financial model to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Leads the evaluation of acquisition opportunities, including financial modeling, valuation analysis, and assessment of strategic alignment.
  • Directs and coordinates due diligence activities, ensuring financial, operational, and commercial analyses are comprehensive, accurate, actionable, and complete with needed follow up items.
  • Clearly articulates transaction structure, key assumptions, risks, and synergy opportunities to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Partners cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Sales, Transformation, Legal, Human Resources and other leaders to assess cost and revenue impacts and validate synergy assumptions.
  • Collaborates with external advisors (e.g., investment bankers, consultants) across sourcing, discovery, due diligence, and execution phases of transactions.
  • Supports post-close integration planning in partnership with integration leaders to ensure alignment with value creation objectives.
  • Works closely with the Value Creation Office to establish tracking mechanisms, monitor performance, and ensure accountability for delivering committed results across strategic initiatives identified in long-range planning process and all acquisition integration activities.

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Master's degree or 8-10 years related experience in Financial Analysis, Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Development or Consulting Competencies (Skills & Knowledge You’ll Bring)
  • Corporate Development & Financial Expertise: Demonstrated experience and background in corporate development, FP&A, consulting, investment banking, or private equity, with strong capabilities in valuation, financial modeling, and strategic analysis.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven ability to lead initiatives as an individual contributor across matrixed organizations, influencing stakeholders without direct authority and aligning teams toward shared objectives.
  • Strategic Thinking & Decision Quality: Applies structured thinking to evaluate complex situations, synthesize multiple perspectives, assess risk, and make sound, data-driven recommendations and decisions.
  • Communication & Executive Presence: Communicates complex financial and strategic concepts clearly and effectively, tailoring messaging to diverse audiences, including but not limited to senior leadership.
  • Collaboration & Relationship Building: Builds strong, trust-based relationships across functions, fostering collaboration and driving alignment to achieve organizational goals.
